When you love someone, truly love them, you lay your heart open to them. You give them a part of yourself that you give to no one else, and you let them inside a part of you that only they can hurt-you literally hand them the razor with a map of where to cut deepest and most painfully on your heart and soul. And when they do strike, it’s crippling-like having your heart carved out, like having the air in your lungs escape, struggling to breath, suffocating.
Falling in love can be like stepping on loose rocks and falling of a cliff, regardless of any barriers you may have built. It comes in silently like mist and settles beautifully over your life
We tend to fall in love with people before we have fully gotten to know them...but love requires utmost vulnerability and trust.... love is elastic it stretches and retracts and constantly changes.
But love, love is a gift...
A gift that comes in different shapes and sizes, a gift that teaches and hurts at the same time, a gift meant to be felt and lived.
When you love someone you share that gift by default
