The echo of one's inner voice against the sharpness of reality blurs vision,
while the swing of connection carries its own truth —
the one that steadies the heart.

I am a passionate young African woman from Namibia, weaving my writing from the raw pulse of my experiences, emotions, and the unyielding fight for justice. Through words, I champion freedom of expression and spirit—the sacred bridge to self-discovery, empowerment, and collective liberation. Free within, I stand tall in the face of adversity. Are you ready to claim yours?
The echo of one's inner voice against the sharpness of reality blurs vision,
while the swing of connection carries its own truth —
the one that steadies the heart.

As I walk this life, I keep noticing the threads — how the past reaches forward into my present, how my present whispers to a future I have not yet met. They are common threads, and they stitch me whole.
I carry a great weight of emotion. And still, I set myself free from it.
I fear no evil — yet I count my blessings like a woman who knows the value of every single coin of grace.
I have loved. I have been loved. I am loved still, and I will be loved — this is the inheritance I refuse to spend carelessly.
I look back, and I call it reminiscence. I hold it tenderly. I keep all of it sacred.
Love has oppressed me. Love has made me uncomfortable in my own skin. And yet — the moment its light finally touches me, the illumination of that feeling — it frees me, it grounds me, it returns me to myself.
I think about it. I live inside it.
Let me name the intersections that shape me: I am a woman. I am a minority — in colour, in sex, in sexual orientation, in socio-economic standing. These are the oppressions I have walked through, and they have carved me into who I am.
And still — I celebrate. I celebrate every opportunity, every turning of my journey, the strange comfort of living inside it all.
Because, my dear, it is the lack — the unknown, the not-yet — that makes life so interesting. That is the mystery that keeps me curious, keeps me reaching.
I live here. I live there. And I live everywhere — because I have learned to make a home of my own becoming.

The amplification of women,
The trigger of discomfort.
As a woman’s power rises amid those who seek to invalidate her,
She claims her space.
The echo of the drumbeat illuminates her.
She rises,
For her reality does not define her lived experience.
She feels the inner spirit and energy
That fuel her being.
The spirit that reminds her of what she is made of,
As her craft shapes the narrative she seeks to create.
The obstacles and challenges within and beyond
Are a manifestation of her commitment,
The very commitment that steers the change
She seeks to impart.
The amplification of women,
The trigger of discomfort.
She speaks, and her voice raises eyebrows.
She walks, and her steps pave a new direction.
She breathes, and the air fills her with serenity.
She touches, and her warmth fuels inspiration.

You are my steady in the storm,
The quiet hand that guides me home.
Years of choosing, fierce and warm
We’ve carried burdens, shared the road.
You loved without a single pause,
You mended edges, held our cause,
taught our tangled days to begin.
You laugh and light the ordinary,
make small things sacred, plain things bright.
In tired hours, you make me carry
hope like lanterns through the night.
Not every road was smooth or straight,
But presence, not perfection, grew.
You stood beside each twist of fate,
believed in me when I was new.
I do not rue the day we met;
No shadow dims the love we’ve grown.
Your name is something I won’t forget
Your hands made this valuable.
May the gift be the quiet grace
of laughter, peace, and dreams that stay.
May every dawn show your dear face,
and may love find light each day.

Late‑night pulse within me.
An architecture of sharpened sight,
Detachment from the unknown that holds me,
And the stimulant of what I might become.
Expanded — interior yet reflective,
As my late‑night pulse rises, quiet and close.
An inner architecture lifting clarity into view,
A steady detachment from what I do not yet know and the bright stimulant of who I could be…

My beloved son and grandson (Simaneka Ethan Tupanduleni Baumann)
Happy 14th birthday! From the moment I first held you, you became my child in every way that matters — my joy, my pride, and my heart. Watching you grow into the kind, curious, and strong young man you are today has been my greatest blessing.
As you step into your teenage years, always remember who you are. Stand up for what you believe in, even when it feels hard. Let love guide your choices, show respect to others and yourself, and share generously — your kindness will change the world around you.
I love you more than words can say. I trust you, I believe in you, and I will always be here to walk with you, laugh with you, and support you. I’m so excited for our new journey through these teenage years together — there are so many wonderful moments ahead.
With all my love
Mommy

Life humbles the soul,
that bold sharer of raw feelings.
Feelings shaped in the fire of real life,
life marked deep by time's firm hand.
Yet an unclaimed belief whispers stop:
pause, stay, embrace the pain inside.
Feelings pull us into deep thought,
thoughts sparking memories, sharp and real.
Memories linked to sources that rise high,
lifting our words to question now,
the past, the thin link between.
Tomorrow comes unasked, right ahead,
carrying life's cost, that heavy mystery.
We think about what was, and enjoy the journey's curve.
But the heart wants to connect, to hold on.
Still, we say yes: all souls must go forward.
In humility's grace, we step into the dawn.

Navigating spaces with Namibian youth is a profound blessing—a shared journey of affirming lived realities and sparking transformative change.
The Namibian Activists School granted me the honored of delivering dynamic sessions and facilitating discussions that elevated key themes: civic engagement in governance, bold policy reform, and strategic leadership for marginalized voices.
Through these interactions, we held space for authentic stories, built collective resilience, and envisioned a more just Namibia.
I am deeply thankful for this opportunity to contribute to the next generation of activists, fostering hope and agency in our shared pursuit of equity and progress.

Constant signs. Constant directions. No room for later.
My blood is impatient.
I am navigating a world that demands my logic,
while serving a spirit that demands my soul.
It is an exhausting, beautiful, holy friction.
I am a citizen of the seen and the unseen,
Keeping my balance while the drums in my chest
drown out the noise of the street.

In quiet shadowed dunes where secrets hide,
Our love runs deep—
Like a hidden river cutting through the heart.
Distance wraps us in soft evening light,
But our hearts stay connected,
Fearless fire lighting up the empty spaces.
No fear of going our own ways,
We stand against the hurt life brings to those we love.
Let’s go into this mystery, my dearest—our joy lives on forever.

The reflection of consciousness,
A pinch from within…
An unapologetic form of expression,
The reality that finally settles in.
The mirror of the mind ignites thought,
Connecting logic to the heat of emotion.
Emotions that trigger deep-seated feelings,
Turning quiet wonder into a piercing question.
A question that unearths a jagged reality,
Leaving you to long, leaving you to wish.
Yet, this mirror remains an inner reflection—
A light only you can direct.
You hold the power to make it right,
Or leave the image as it is.
Fear the emotion no longer;
Run no more from the weight of the feeling.
Face the reflection with steady eyes,
For the mirror of self requires only healing.
I am me because with you, we are a force.

I wake at 04:30, lying still for 10 minute gently emerging from sleep, affirming my morning with quiet intention.
I rise, light the incense, and step into the shower, where water aligns my body, mind, and soul.
Gratitude flows as I repeat thanks for life itself, for the gift of another dawn.
Only then do I step outside to feed the birds, amplifying my prayer and centering my spirit for 10-15 minutes.
I stretch my body and work out to strengthen my physique, clearing space for what lies ahead
I am profoundly thankful to have sustained this ritual for years.

Soft words
Deep vows
A knot tied in the dark
The map pulled us thin
But I still feel your weight
In the empty space.

There come times in life when we simply move on,
continuing to do what we must.
We live to ensure responsibilities are met,
matters addressed.
Yet we forget to take a breath—
that breath that makes us stop
and realise we need time for ourselves.
The self that does all that is required,
that functions in multidimensional ways,
that has the spine to keep going.
There come times in life when we simply move on,
continuing to do what we must—
that moment when your heart takes a beat,
that beat reminding you that you are human.
The human who must engage within,
as the pulse affirms you're alive.
The human who forgot to take time
to fill the-self.
The human who finds themselves at a crossroads.
That crossroads signals all directions,
Yet you must realign within yourself.
Put yourself first—
first in a way that keeps you human,
That lets you remain you.
For in that everlasting love,
Your lived reality of connection thrives.

Though shadows pull me back from sight,
I shy from your gaze, unspoken, tender. Yet within my guarded heart ignites Our love—eternal flame, fierce splendour. I cradle it close, this aching fire, Through endless night, my soul's true vow. With quiet grace, I rise ever higher, Preserving our bond... onward now.The mind, the heart, and reality each carry their own process—
a sequence streaming through life, yet all encompassed by one soul.
A soul dear and committed to life,
Yet life provides what one shapes.
The mind, the heart, and reality each carry their own process—
a process that bonds one soul within another.
The sharings that shape emotion and connection—
the connection that makes love real and gentle.
The gentleness that instils safety and amplifies vulnerability—
The vulnerability that makes one's heart linger in faith and hope.
Hope that grows one's projection: life will be better,
free from uncomfortable energies and realities that do not fulfil the soul.
The mind, the heart, and reality each carry their own process—
a process that the heart defeats reality.
Reality swings one way while the heart desires the other—
Oh, yet the heart desires both.
Why does reality expect one to choose, if life could allow both to love?
Why does reality judge one's preference and acknowledgement
of what the heart and mind choose to connect with and desire?
The mind, the heart, and reality each carry their own process.
Reality has made it so difficult to want and need
The fulfilment of not having to choose.
My heart knows its worth and the love it carries.
My mind is sober in its actions and affirmations.
And my reality is not fixed—as only I know my truth.
